Murder suspect arrested in La Crescent
A man suspected of murdering a woman in La Crosse was arrested in La Crescent on January 21 and extradited to La Crosse on January 22.
Irvin M. Ramirez, 24, was arrested by La Crescent Police Department at the La Crescent Kwik Trip at 319 South Third Street after receiving a driving complaint about him from the store at about 4 a.m.
Ramirez is suspected of killing Danielle Gorectke, 23, of Minocqua. Her body was found at about 8 a.m. Sunday morning outside Christ Covenant Church in La Crosse.
Ramirez was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Police found blood on Ramirez, and a womanís purse and its contents on the front seat of his car. A debit card belonging to Gorectke was among the items. La Crescent Police called La Crosse Police, who located Gorectkeís sister Michelle. Michelle had reported her sister missing at about 6 a.m. She told authorities and she and Danielle had become separated at about 2 a.m. at The Helm bar in La Crosse.
Police do not know if Danielle Gorectke went willingly with Ramirez. Anyone with information is asked to call La Crosse Police Department at 608-789-7238.
La Crosse Circuit Court Judge Dale Passell issued an arrest warrant for Ramirez that charged him with first degree intentional homicide.
He appeared in Houston County Court on January 21 for DWI and fugitive from justice charges. He pled not guilty to the DWI charge, and waived extradition. La Crosse Police Department officers then took him to La Crosse.
