In gymnastics, the girls met Byron in Caledonia on January 25 and had an excellent showing, earning 132.275 points to 108 for their opponent. Caledonia/Spring Grove had the number one spot in all events.

The girls basketball team nears the end of its season stronger than ever, posting wins over Waukon (56-53) and St. Charles 78-45 last week. The girls meet Chatfield at home Friday night, February 1.

The Caledonia Invitational Wrestling tournament was held Saturday, January 27. Caledonia/Houston/Spring Grove had wins against Winona (66-11), La Crescent (61-10), and Stewartville (38-22).

In a new development, the Minnesota State High School League has suspended wrestling in the state due to an outbreak of herpes gladitorum. Wrestling can resume February 7, so section tournaments will go on as planned. Check our website for any changes that may arise.

The boys basketball team fell to La Crescent January 23 by a score of 72-53, and beat St. Charles 72-56 on January 26. The boys play in Chatfield Friday.
