Wayne Burmester
Wayne Harold Burmester died July 7, 2007 at the Mericor Hospital in Madison, Wis. after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
He was born February 10, 1959 to Harold and Charlotte (Schauble) Burmester in Caledonia. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church of Eitzen, and attended Caledonia public schools. He married Debra Pitts in 1988 and they later divorced.
He worked at various farm jobs in the area until moving to Madison where he was employed for 25 years as a maintenance man.
Wayne is survived by two daughters, Jessica of Caledonia and Samantha of La Crosse; three grandchildren; his mother of Caledonia; two sisters: Jane (Dan) Cerney of New Brighton, Minn.; Mary Lou (Allen) Ross of St. Joseph, Mo.; a brother Robert (Angie) of Mabel; and very good friend and caregiver Cindy Roehl of Madison.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold; and a sister Dianne Carr.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 21 at Whispering Pines in Caledonia at 2 p.m. for family and friends. Pastor Tom Schultz will officiate. If not otherwise designated, any memorials will be given to the American Cancer Society.
