Peter Hegge
Peter Magnus Hegge, age 96 of Spring Grove, died Friday, June 29, 2007, at his home.
He was born March 9, 1911 in Black Hammer Township, Houston County, to Oscar E. and Thora Mathilde Nilsen (Sandholdt). He was a lifelong area resident.
On October 17, 1934 he married Edna Morken. Peter and Edna farmed and lived in Black Hammer until moving to Spring Grove in 2000. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Black Hammer, where he had also been baptized and confirmed.
He is survived by his son Owen (Janice) Hegge of Spring Grove; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Mabel Overby of Austin, Minn; and five sisters-in-law, Eleanor Hegge, Genora Gulbranson, Irene Rosaaen, Margaret Morken, and Helen Morken.
He was preceded in death by his wife Edna in 2004, his brothers Harry and Arthur, and his sisters Evelyn Tuma and Anna Buick.
Funeral Services were held Monday at Faith Lutheran Church in Black Hammer, rural Spring Grove, at 11 a.m. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Friends called Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at Roble Funeral Home in Spring Grove, and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
