Herbert Colsch
Herbert "Herbie" Colsch age 54 of New Albin, Iowa, died Thursday, July 05, 2007 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisc.
He was born in La Crosse, Wisc. on Sept. 25, 1952 to Edward and Evelyn (Mulholland) Colsch Sr. He graduated from Lansing Kee High in 1970. He married Mary Diersen on July 18, 1981 at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Caledonia.
He worked as a farmer, also at Northern Engraving, did logging, worked for various sawmills, and most recently had started working construction with Donahue Construction. He was the caretaker for Sand Cove Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife Mary of New Albin; three children: Cassandra Lynn (Matt) Colsch of Arlington Heights, Ill.; Stacia Marie (Allen) Pohlman of New Albin; and Michelle Staggemeyer of Houston; three grandchildren; eight siblings: Margaretta Cue (Scott Carroll), Lansing; Ariel (Peter) Gilbertson, Reno, Minn.; Edward (Kathy) Colsch, Brownsville; Evelyn (Edward) Bebee, Reno; Raymond (Dolly) Colsch, Freeburg; Ronnie Colsch, Freeburg; Merrell (Karen) Colsch, Reno; and Calvin (Donna) Colsch, Freeburg.
Herbert was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Community Center in New Albin with Pastor Thomas Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Zion Evangelical Cemetery in Eitzen. Friends may call on Sunday from 3 to 7 pm at the New Albin Community Center. The Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing is assisting the family.
