SG/C Lion softball awards announced

The Spring Grove/Caledonia softball team has announced its awards for the recent softball season.

All-conference honors went to Libby Augedahl, Cassie Gran, Jordan OíHeron, and Jane Pettit. Miranda Lager received an honorable mention.

Jordan OíHeron and Jane Pettit also received academic all-state honors. Academic all-conference honors went to OíHeron and Pettit as well, in addition to Karla Tweeten, Amber Ideker, Maria Betz, Rachel Theobald, Laura Petersen, Libby Augedahl, Theresa Ellenz, Cassie Gran, Michelle Doering, and Jenna Schmitz.

Cassie Gran won the Most Valuabe Player Award from her team; and Miranda Lager was named "Most Improved." Jordan OíHeron won the "Hustle Award," and Amber Ideker the Spirit Award.

The Lions ended their season with a 17-8 record overall, 5-3 in the conference. The team is coaches by Michelle Anderson, who is in her 17th year, and Tina Fruechte. Bethany Bergsgaard is the junior high coach.
