Brownsville Days Friday - Sunday

The community of Brownsville will be brimming with activity this weekend, as the annual summer celebration "Brownsville Days at the Ball Park" runs Friday through Sunday.

Friday kicks off with the co-ed softball tournament at 7 p.m. The concession stand, featuring beer, pop, and food opens for business at 6 p.m.

The co-ed tournament resumes Saturday morning, beginning at 9 a.m.

A kickball tournament is scheduled for noon. Registration for the bean bag tournament is also at noon, with the competition beginning at 1 p.m.

Kidsí games, featuring egg tosses, three-legged races, face painting, potato sack races, a bounce house, and a sand pile, will be held Saturday from 1 to 4 and Sunday from 2 to 4.

The kickball tournament continues at 4 p.m. and DJ 103.5 will provide music from 8 to midnight.

Sunday morning begins with the co-ed softball tournament at 9 a.m.

An ecumenical church service, featuring the Spokesmen quartet will be held at the Community Center, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The Brownsville Fire and Rescue will be holding an open house from 10 a.m. to noon at the Fire Hall. A Medlink helicopter will be on hand from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

A chicken que will be held at the Community Center, with serving starting at 11 a.m.

The kickball tournament action continues at 11 a.m.

The parade will take place at 1 p.m.

A raffle drawing will be held at 2:30, with a baseball game pitting Brownsville against Caledonia to follow.

A horseshoe tournament will also begin at 2:30.

Food, pop, and beer will be available all three days on the grounds. Wristbands are required for alcohol. Carry ins will not be allowed.
