On Friday, June 8 the Houston Aces hosted the St. Charles Sting in aÝTwin Rivers ConferenceÝregular season game, and sent the Sting packing with a 10-0 loss.

The nightís match up went from ordinary to extraordinary withÝHouston AcesÝstarting pitcher Kyle Welscherís dominating performance.ÝWelscherís overwhelming fastball kept St. Charles baffled throughoutÝthe entire game, as he struck out 14 Sting batters and didnít give up a hit.

Not to go unnoticed was the other half of this tandem - catcher Elliot Kranz. Kyleís exceptional abilityÝcombined withÝElliotís veteran leadership bring out the best in one another.

The other side of the game was Houstonís timely hitting and heads up base running. The Aces started their scoring assault in the first inning with a Matt Hatzinger RBI single scoring Justin Conway. In the second inning Houston capitalized on St. Charlesí fielding blunders allowing both Trevor Carrier and Adam Peterson to score.

Houston took a commanding lead in the bottom of the third putting an additional four runs on the board. The game would end with a no hitter thrown and a 10-0 final score. Houstonís stars of the game were Justin Conway going 3 for 4, Gus Meiners 2 for 5 (double), Adam Peterson 2 for 4, and Elliot Kranz 2 for 3 (2 RBIs).
