Leslie Gordon Eddy
Leslie Gordon Eddy, 85, of Spring Grove, died June 2, after suffering from being hit by a car in Decorah, IA on Dec. 14, 2006.
He was born in Spring Grove on August 20, 1921 to Leland Eddy and Gilma Garness, and raised by Gerhard and Gilma Sagdalen.
He attended rural school.
He left to work on area farms, and eventually began his mechanics career at Trehus Olds and GMC in Spring Grove.
He entered the service in WWII as a Military Police Officer, serving at Greenhaven State Prison and Fort Slocum in NY until 1946.
He married Eleanor Theresa Cioffoletti on April 17, 1955 in New Rochelle, NY
Survivors include his wife Eleanor of Spring Grove, his son Gary (Judith) Eddy of La Crescent; two daughters, Katherine (Dan) Berndt of Johnson City, Tenn., and Gloria (Terry) Sagdalen of Spring Grove; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Gloria and Violet.
Private family services will be held Wednesday, June 6 at 11 a.m. at Roble Funeral Chapel in Spring Grove.
Burial will follow in the Prospect Hills Cemetery in La Crescent.
