Shirley Morey
Shirley Ann Morey, 66, of Caledonia died of cancer Friday, May 11, 2007, at her home.
She was born December 18, 1940 in Caledonia to Isaac and Florence (Miller) Tollefson. She graduated from Loretto High School in 1958 and worked at Houston County Courthouse for about 10 years. Shirley married Neil Morey August 6, 1966 at St. Peterís Catholic Church, Caledonia. She opened the Pine Cone Place Gift Shop in Caledonia 35 years ago with her partner Sharon Schoeberl and had it until March of 2007. She was a member of St. Maryís Catholic Church, Caledonia, and its Council of Catholic Women, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband Neil of Caledonia; two sons, Michael (Kendra) Morey, and Matthew (Beth) Morey both of Caledonia; three daughters, Michelle (John) McCabe of Caledonia; Tammy (Karl) Fritz of LaCrescent; and Mary (Matthew) Miller of Rogers, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Odin (Lois) Tollefson of Bismark, N.D., and Joseph (Bonnie) Tollefson of Caledonia.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Michael Morey.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 14, at St. Maryís Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Gregory Leif will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Holy Family Hall, behind St. Mary's Church, Caledonia, where a prayer service will be at 8 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church Monday. Memorials may be given to Calvary Cemetery, Holy Family Hall Kitchen or to donorsí choice.
McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia is assisting the family with arrangements.
