Caledonia hosted Waukon and La Crescent in three events on the same day at Ma Cal Grove on Tuesday, April 24. The Warrior varsity came up against the Waukon varsity; C/SGís JV competed against Waukonís JV, and another C/SG team of girls played against La Crescentís varsity. Said Coach Ken Van Den Boom about the triple win in the cold rain, "Itís great to see all three C/SG teams record team scores lower than both varsity opponents."

C/SG 190, Waukon 239
Caledoniaís varsity defeated Waukonís varsity by 49 strokes. "Janelle had a great round with a 41," said Van Den Boom. "Our goal is to have all four scores in the 40s and eventually have all six golfers in the 40s.
"We need to get below 190 as a varsity score on our course. We continue to have too many double bogies or more on a hole during the round."

Janelle Lilliquist was medalist with 41. Kelly Bauer and Tayler Kurk carded 49s, and Laura Roesler and Sam Meyer each scored 51. Heather Kuecker scored a 54.

C/SG JV 227, Waukon JV 295

Caledoniaís JV score of 227 was better than both Waukonís varsity and JV scores. "Our JV scores continue to be very good," said Van Den Boom.

Clare McCarthy was JV medalist with 54. Maria Dokken came in with a 56; Jessica Kruckow 58, and Chelsea McManimon-Moe 59.

C/SG 235, La Crescent 285

A group of six of Caledoniaís younger golfers played against La Crescentís varsity, defeating them by 50 strokes.
Molly Mullins carded a 56 for medalist honors in the contest. Ellen Klug scored 59, Sarah Eppen and Megan Houdek 65, and Bridget Macomber 73.

7th & 8th Grades vs. Fillmore

The Caledonia/Spring Grove 7th and 8th grade girls met the girls from Fillmore Central on Friday, April 27. Although Fillmore had only three girls competing, Caledonia had more than enough for two teams of their own. Their score of 237 was good enough to defeat any of the varsity teams the Warriors came up against this week.

"This junior high group continues to show great promise," said Van Den Boom. "If they all play lots in the summer, they will be a great varsity some day."

Molly Mullins carded a 56 for the low score of the day. Jade Steele scored a 59, and Megan Houdek and Sadie Lange each scored 61. Also golfing were Jennifer Ely with a 64, Anne Roesler 66, Paige Langen 67, Caitlyn Stoltz 72, Katie McCarthy 73, Heather Solberg 74, and Taylor Eaton 79.

Next: The Warriors host Fillmore Central and Decorah in a triangular at Ma Cal Grove on Tuesday, May 1.
