The Caledonia/Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton track team had four first-place finishes in a 10-team track meet held in La Crescent on Friday. There were no team scores kept.

C/SG/M took the top two places in the 100 meter dash, thanks to Molly Furlong, who was first with a time if 13.30, and Laquita Becker, who came in at 13.36 for second place.

Ashley King was first in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.08. Courtney Granís time was 28.65, which put her in third place.
Samantha Wermager had second-place finishes in the 100 meters (17.52) and the 300 hurdles (50.42).
Alecia Welscher competed in the 100 meter hurdles and had a time of 20.74.

The 4 x 200 meter relay team finished in first place with a time 1:50.65. Runners were Sarah Colleran, Ashley King, Megan King and Laquita Becker. The next best time was 1:54.46 from Rushford-Peterson/Houston.

C/SG/MC finished the 4 x 100 in 52.87 for second place behind the winning time of 52.60 for the team from Winona.
C/SG/MC was fifth in the 4x800 with a time of 11:13.90.

Rachel Bauer jumped 4 ft. 4 inches in the high jump. The record for that event is held by CHS alum Brianna Polus, who cleared 5 ft. 7 in. in 2004 and 2005.

In the long jump, Samantha Wermager was second with 14 ft. 3.25 in. Katie Wiste was fifth with 14 ft. 1 in.
Wiste took first in the triple jump with a distance of 34 ft. 3.25 in.

In the shot put, Molly Schaller threw 31 ft. 10 inches, and Betsy Schaller threw a distance of 29 ft., 5.75 in.
In the discus, it was the other way around with Betsy coming in ahead of Molly with a throw of 96 ft. 4 inches. Mollyís distance was 92 ft. 6 in.

Kayla McCormick and Danielle Frank ran the 400 meter dash in 1:10.80 and 1:12.68 respectively. Richell Mehus ran the 800 meter in 2:36.4.

The team travels to La Crescent again on Friday for a dual meet. On Tuesday, May 1, the varsity and junior high teams competed in Rushford.

The first and only home meet of the season is Monday, May 7, with Grand Meadow/LeRoy Ostrander.
The conference meet is May 12 in Lewiston, and sub-sections begin May 24 in La Crescent.
