Caledonia clinches Three
Rivers South Conference

The Warriors traveled to Byron for a four team meet on Tuesday, May 15 at Sommersby. "Itís always great to play a course like Sommersby," said coach Ken Van Den Boom.
Van Den Boom said it was a good news, bad news day. "The good news is we defeated two of the teams that will be in close competition with Lourdes for the sub-section title," he said. "The bad news is our scores were very high for the most part."
Caledonia/Spring Grove did manage to keep their team score under 200, coming in with a 199. Second at the meet was Hayfield with 206, followed by Byron with 211. St. Cloudís score was incomplete.
Janelle Lilliquist was medalist with 42. Laura Roesler scored a 50, Heather Kuecker 51, and Tayler Kurk 56. Kelly Bauer came in with 59 and Sam Meyer 61.
C-SG Champions at
SE Conference Invitational
The Warriors traveled to Hayfield to play the Oaks for the SE Conference Invitational on Friday, May 18.
Caledonia came away as champions for the day with a score of 384, with Chatfield coming in second with 427. Fillmore Central was third with 429, Wabasha-Kellogg fourth with 459, and Lewiston-Altura fifth with 503. Kingslandís and Plainview-Elgin-Millvilleís scores were incomplete.
"It was good to win the SE Minnesota Invitational and good to play the course where the section tournament will be," said Van Den Boom.
C-SG had five of its players in the top 10 out of 35 golfers.
Lilliquist was medalist for the day with a 91. Kelly Bauer took third place with a 97; Sam Meyer was fifth with a 98; and Heather Kuecker was sixth, also with a 98. Laura Roesler shot a 103 for seventh place, and Tayler Kurk stayed in the top 20 with a 117.
Caledonia 186, Chatfield 212
Caledonia-Spring Grove had not made up the meet with Chatfield that had been postponed due to the snow storm in April, so the first nine holes of the invitational at Hayfield were taken as the make-up meet. Caledonia came up the winner with a score of 186 to Chatfieldís 212.
"The win against Chatfield clinched the conference for us and that was good," said Van Den Boom.
Kelly Bauer was medalist in the match with Chatfield with a 43. Sam Meyer carded a 46, Janelle Lilliquist a 47, and Laura Roesler a 48 to round out the counting scores. Heather Kuecker scored a 49 and Tayler Kurk a 59.
Jr High 216, Mabel Jr. High 290
Caledoniaís junior high participated in a meet at Mabel on Tuesday, May 15, winning with a score of 216 to Mabelís 290. Van Den Boom said that the 216 is a great junior high score.
"Caitlin Stoltz had a nice score for medalist," said Van Den Boom. "This is the first time for her to be medalist."
Stoltz shot a 50 to earn medalist honors. Molly Mullins carded a 51, Anne Roesler 56, and Megan Houdek, Jennifer Ely and Katie McCarthy each shot 59s. Jade Steele shot 63, Sadie Lange 65, Paige Langen 69, and Taylor Elton 70.
Next: The sub-section tournament took place at Cedar River Golf Course in Adams on Tuesday, May 22. The section tournament will be Tuesday, May 29 at the Oaks in Hayfield.
