Beatrice Mauss
Beatrice Mauss, 86 of New Albin, Iowa died Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Thornton Manor in Lansing, Iowa.
Beatrice was born in Dorchester, Iowa on November 2, 1920 to John and Mary (McKenna) Blake. She married Cornelius "Connie" Mauss on February 18, 1941 at Dorchester, they were married 65 years before he preceded her in death on March 16, 2006.
Beatrice was a member of the Homemakers Club and was a member and past officer of the Altar and Rosary Society.
She is survived by nine children, Dick (Janet) Mauss of New Albin, Kenneth (Romelle) Mauss of LaCrosse, Wis., Jerry (Janice) Mauss of New Albin, Karen (Donavon) Olson of Eitzen, Barb (Wayne) Sabatke of Birchwood, Alan Mauss of Hokah, George (Tammy) Mauss of Caledonia, Gary (Barbara) Mauss of Caledonia, and Steve (Kim) Mauss of Eitzen; 40 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; daughter in law, Kathy Mauss of Combined Locks, Wis.; a sister, Frances Blake of Waukon, Iowa; two sisters in law, Margaret Blake of Dorchester, and Mary Blake of Waukon.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband Connie in 2006, and a son Donald Mauss in 1985; four brothers, William, James, Patrick, John Blake; and six sisters, Gertrude Larson, Marie Schulte, Julia Mauss, Helen White, Patricia Byrnes, and Betty Hegeman.
The Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing is assisting the family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Josephís Church in New Albin with Fr. Daniel Knipper officiating with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in New Albin. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the New Albin Community Center in New Albin.
