Ardes Staven
Ardes Iola Staven, 80, of Spring Grove, Minn. died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wis.
Ardes was born January 8, 1927 in Spring Grove Township to Arnt and Ida (Housker) Amunrud. She was a lifelong Spring Grove area resident, graduating from Mabel High School.
On July 30, 1949 she married Obert E. Staven in Spring Grove. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2004. Ardes worked as a factory worker in Spring Grove for many years. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Black Hammer, rural Spring Grove, and its womensí groups.
She is survived by two sons: Donald (Joelet) Staven, Rochester, Minn., and Mark (Melba) Staven, Caledonia; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one brother, Robert Amunrud, Mabel; and one sister, Helen (Nels) Gulbranson, Spring Grove.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Bruce; and a sister, Sigrid Nerstad.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 15 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove with burial in the church cemetery. Pastor Leonard Liptack will officiate. Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roble Funeral Home in Spring Grove, and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
