Mercedes Schieber
Mercedes A. Schieber, 85 of LaCrescent, formerly of Caledonia, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007 at Golden Living Center, LaCrescent.
She was born Dec. 14, 1921 in Caledonia to George A. and Isabell (Theisen) Manhart. She married Arnold J. Schieber Nov. 28, 1940 at St. Peterís Catholic Church, Caledonia. He preceded her in death March 4, 1976.
Mercedes worked at Control Data in Spring Grove and worked as a cook at various restaurants during her life. She also worked at Rush Products in Rushford for many years.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary (Glen) Klankowski, LaCrescent; four grandchildren; and a brother Giles Manhart, Caledonia.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Thursday, Nov. 15, at McCormick Funeral Home, 205 East Main, Caledonia. Father Gregory Leif will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to St. Maryís Church, Caledonia or to donorís choice.
