Robert Amunrud
Robert A. Amunrud, 87, of Mabel, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007 at his home.
He was born March 18, 1920 at Riceford, Minn. to Arnt and Ida (Housker) Amunrud. He married Amy Clarissa Housker Jan. 25, 1957 at Mabel First Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death Sept. 19, 2001. The couple farmed in Newburg Township until moving into Mabel in 1993. Robert was a member of Scheie Lutheran Church, rural Mabel.
He is survived by a sister, Helen (Nels) Gulbranson, Spring Grove; a sister-in-law, Signe Housker, Mabel; a brother in law, Harry Housker of Mabel and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters:Ardes Staven and Sigrid Nerstad.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Scheie Lutheran Church, rural Mabel with the Rev. Mary Waudby officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16 at Mengis Funeral Home, Mabel, and one hour prior to the service at the church Saturday. Memorials may be given to Scheie Lutheran Church or Scheie Lutheran Church Improvement Fund.
