a cornucopia of gift ideas

"I guess we just felt there was a need for this type of a business in Spring Grove," explained Sharon Nickerson. "We had people coming in to eat at our restaurant on the weekends, and when they finished dining would ask, ëwhere do we go now?í So we decided to do something about that."
The "we" is Nickerson and her partner in TemptationS on Main Terry Sullivan. And the "something" is a new gift shop called TemptationS TreasureS. The new business, which opened last week, is located just six doors west of TemptationS on Main, at 149 West Main Street. Nickerson and Sullivan opened up the popular restaurant in downtown Spring Grove this past summer. When the storefront that used to house the Richard Berg Insurance Agency opened up, they looked at each other and asked "why not?"
TemptationS TreasureS is a cornucopia of gift ideas, situated in a cozy storefront. Shoppers will find jewelry (some locally made), collectibles, seasonal gifts, antiques, cards for every occasion, consignment items, locally-produced crafts, and regional gift items.
"Weíre trying to offer items for people when they need a gift or a card," Sullivan noted. "Maybe itís for a wedding, an anniversary, a birthday. Weíre trying to offer a very wide variety of items. And weíve had a wonderful response since we opened."
Thereís really no way to categorize what one might find at TemptationS TreasureS. And it will be impossible to do so, since Nickerson and Sullivan plan to continually bring new items and lines into their store.
"This is going to be a work in progress. It will be constantly evolving, ever-changing," Sullivan added. "We plan to have reasonably-priced items, that the average Joe can afford."
Store hours will be Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., closed Sunday and Monday.
TemptationS TreasureS will accept consignment items during store hours on Wednesdays and Saturdays. "Thatís when Sharon and I will be around. Weíll be the ones deciding on what we will or wonít consign," Sullivan noted.
He added they plan to work with the newly-established art gallery in Spring Grove when it comes to some of the locally-produced art pieces.
"People are going to be surprised what they just might find here," Sullivan said, as he looked around the new shop. And because they plan to added new items all the time, TemptationS TreasureS will be a new adventure every trip.
