Schedule of events for Caledonia Winter Wonderland

The Caledonia Winter Wonderland celebration kicked off officially this past weekend and will continue on into December.
On Sunday, Dec. 2 the Snow Princess Pageant and the Snow Queen Pageant will take place at the Caledonia High School Auditorium beginning at 6 p.m.
The Snow Queen Pageant and the Snowflake hunt will begin at 7 p.m.
Friday, December 7
The celebration takes a few days off but festivities get back underway on Dec. 7.
At 4:45 to 6:30 p.m. there will be a Rotary Soup Supper and at 5:00 p.m. Ice Sculpture Carving Demonstrations will kick off. Both events will take place at the city auditorium.
The Lighted Grand Parade will begin at 7 p.m. and following the parade Santa himself will host a sing along.
DJ Lee will keep the crowd moving well into the night as he will host the entertainment from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m.
Saturday, December 8
The fun begins early on Saturday, Dec. 8 with the Hot Air Balloon Launch at 7:30 a.m. (at the Houston County Airport).
Santa, ever the busy guy this time of year, will host a breakfast event, also at the city auditorium, from 7:30 a.m. until 10 a.m.
After breakfast until noon, there will be three-on-three basketball tournaments. Contact Scott at 725-2792 if you are interested in playing.
A relic snowmobile show will also take place on Saturday.
The Caledonia Fire House tours and games will take place at the firehouse.
The beer lodge opens at 10 a.m. and is catered by Good Times.
At the fairgrounds the Historical Society will host an Old Fashioned Christmas.
A Quilt Show and Pie By the Slice by Grace Staggemeyer will take place from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
A Euchre tournament will kick off at 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Other fun events of the day include: Blind Men Volleyball and Caledoniaís Gong Show. Volleyball tips off at noon, and the Gong Show will begin at 1:30 p.m. and go until 3:30 p.m. If you are interested in the volleyball you should contact Sandy at 725-3479 or the Gong Show contact Lisa at 725-3407.
A second launch of the hot air balloons will be at 2:30 p.m. again at the Houston County Airport.
Registration for the Bean Bag Tournament will be at 4 p.m. and the Bud Girls will also arrive at 4 p.m.
The bean bag tournament will go from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Christmas Caroling throughout town will begin at 5 p.m. If you are interested in participating you can contact Sandy at 725-3479.
The Jerky Contest will last from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
American Legion Bingo begins at 7 p.m.
Simon Sezz will be the entertainment on from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday.
The Caledonia Lions Hawaii Trip Drawing will be held at 10 p.m.
The ever popular Men of Minnesota Wet T-shirt contest will take place at 11 p.m.
Sunday, December 9
Two events will be scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 9. The Hot Air Balloon rides will kick off at 7:30 a.m. again at the Houston County Airport.
And from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. the Historical Societyís Old Fashioned Christmas will again be held at the fairgrounds from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All events will be held at the city auditorium unless noted otherwise.
