Houston Hurricanes bow out in state 9-man quarterfinals

The Houston High School's perfect football season came to an end Thursday night, when the Hurricanes were defeated 28-12 by Verndale in the Minnesota state quarterfinals. The game was played at Hamline University in St. Paul. The 'Canes took a perfect 11-0 record into the state play-offs, while Verndale had posted a 9-1 record.
The Caledonia Warriors will take a 10-1 record into the State Class AA quarterfinals against Norwood Young America (9-2) Friday night for a 7 p.m. match-up at Park High School of Cottage Grove. See Saturday's web page for Friday night's results.
