Martha Bunge
Martha B. Bunge, 97, of Eitzen, Minn., died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007 at Caledonia Care and Rehab.
She was born Oct. 20, 1909 in Verdi, Minn. to Henry and Emma (Heitman) Fruechte. Martha attended schools in Iowa and then attended one year of agricultural school at the University of Minnesota in St. Paul. From 1932 until 1939, she worked in Rochester, Minn. at theÝhome of Dr. and Mrs. William Mayo. On Aug. 10, 1944 she married Herman Bunge at St. Lukeís United Church of Christ in Eitzen and they were married for over 63 years. She was a member of St. Lukeís United Church of Christ in Eitzen.
Survivors include her husband, Herman of Eitzen; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Martha was preceded in death by her four year old son, Edward Herman Bunge; three brothers: Elmer, John, and Franklin Fruechte; and four sisters: Lora Pieper, Alice Bunge, Irma Anderson, and one in infancy.
Funeral services will be Monday, Oct. 15, 2007 at 2 p.m. at St. Lukeís United Church of Christ, Eitzen. Rev. Kent A. Meyer, Ph.D., and Rev. Debra A. Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. FriendsÝmay call at St. Lukeís United Church of Christ on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and on Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia, is in charge of arrangements.
