Genevieve L. Schiltz

Genevieve L. Schiltz, 88, of Caledonia, died Tuesday, September 25, at Samaritan Bethany Heights, Rochester, Minn. She was born January 5, 1919 in Savanna, Ill., to Edward and Beatrice Belle (Roberts) Stouvenel. She married Wilfred T. Schiltz on May 25, 1938 in La Crosse, Wisc. He preceded her in death on April 8, 1994.

Gen owned and operated Caledonia Dairy for 3 years with her good friend, Augusta Kunst. She then worked in Caledonia as a secretary for the Selective Service from 1955 to 1972. She was an avid golfer, bowler, gardener and she loved to dance. She was also very artistic and creative. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Caledonia, its Council of Catholic Women and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

She is survived by her five children, Dianne Lotter of West Bend Wisc., Larry Schiltz of Minnetonka, Minn., Janine (Uzi) Schiltz-Levi of Dayton, Ohio, Mary Lynn Schiltz of Rochester, and Lauren (Scott) Graham of Farmington, Minn, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, a sister, Dot Mueller of Calif. and a brother Bill Stouvenel of Mexico.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Edward, a grandson, Craig Schiltz, and 6 brothers and sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 29, at St. Maryís Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Gregory Leif will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Friends may call from 5 to 7 pm Friday at McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia, where a prayer service will be at 7 pm. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church Saturday. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimers Association.
