Spring Grove hands Warriors 69-64 loss

The Caledonia boys basketball team was handed their fourth loss of the season when Spring Grove defeated the Warriors during the four-team holiday classic,which was held in Caledonia last week.
The Lions defeated the Warriors 69-64 on Wednesday, Dec. 28.
The Warriors took control of the game in the opening minutes and led by 14 points, 40-26 at the half.
But the pesky Lions began chipping away at the Warrior lead and overtook the host team with several minutes remaining in the contest. Spring Grove out-scored Caledonia 43-24 in the second half for the five-point margin of victory.
Alex Varney led the Warriors with 19 points. Willie Cordes added 14, Houston Halverson had 10, Ryan Eppen had eight, Matt Petersen had five and Nathan Rohrer and Kevin Lapham both had four points.
No other stats were made available.

The Warriors travel to Dover-Eyota on Jan. 3 and will host Southland Jan. 5.
