The Warriors traveled to Byron on Thursday, Jan. 26. The varsity score was Byron 131.3 to Caledonia-Spring Grove 112.425.

“Byron has a very strong team, one of the three top teams in our section,” said coach Jackie Johnson. “The girls had a good meet and we are staying in the range of our average team score for the year, so I can’t really complain much on how the girls did. We are a young team and working very hard this season. We have a large team with 19 girls and with only four of them being seniors.

“We will get to work with these girls for a number of years, as many of them are ninth and 10th graders,” said Johnson.

“We will also be holding the Tumbling Fun Program again this year Feb. 20 – 24. This is for K-sixth grade. This program gets the younger kids excited about gymnastics and helps promote the sport. We will be sending home information with students from school on the program for them to sign up for this opportunity to come in the gym and have some tumbling fun with the team. The program will help with the purchase of new landing mats required in 2013-2014,” said Johnson.
