0 Comments 08 February 2012

Houston County Republicans followed suit with other GOP supporters across the state of Minnesota, as they supported former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum with 62.12 percent of the vote.

Houston County’s support for Santorum was quite a bit higher than the support throughout the state, which was reported at 45 percent.

The 198 Houston County residents who turned out for Tuesday night’s caucuses deviated from the majority of Republicans in the state when it came to support of the other three presidential candidates.

Newt Gingrich received the second most support here (13.64 percent), Ron Paul came in a close third (12.63 percent) and Mitt Romney came in last (10.61 percent).

State-wide, Paul came in second (27 percent) Romney was third (17 percent) and Gingrich last (11 percent).
