Girls take third in first track meet

The Caledonia/Spring Grove girls track team placed third in a four-team meet held last week in Rushford. Host team Rushford-Peterson/Houston came in first with 81 points, La Crescent was right behind with 80 points, the Warriors were third with 67 points and Lanesboro/Fillmore Central/Mabel-Canton was fourth with 41.

Earning team points in the meet for the Warriors included:

• 100 meters- Maria Fruechte- second place (13.74) and Samantha Colleran- fifth place (14.57).

• 200 meters- Fruechte- first place (28.71), fourth place Remi Sonsalla (31.03) and Josie Wagner fifth place (31.;15).

• 400 meters- Lauren Arneson- fourth place (1:08.550 and Fruechte- fifth place (1:09.35).

• 800 meters- Arneson- fourth place (3:03.7820 and Liz Johnson- fifth place (3:07.39).

• 3200 meters- Brenna Werner- first place (13:05.28) and Kelly Schansberg- fifth place (16:23.28).

• 100 meter hurdles- Hannah Russert- first place (17.53).

• 300 meter hurdles- Russert- second place (53.09).

• 4×100 relay- Warriors- third place (58.41).

• 4×200 meter relay- Warriors- third place (2:07.9).

• 4×800 meter relay- Warriors- second (11:13.57).

• High jump- Alexis King- third place (4-6).

• Pole vault- Heidi Jo Buxengard- first place (8-00), Nicole Hanson- fourth (6-00).

• Triple jump- Russert- first place (31-10.25).

• Shot put- Trece Frank- third place (27-03.50) and Aly Folz- fourth place (27-01).
