Lions rout Hope Lutheran 32-2

Spring Grove/Caledonia  routed Hope Lutheran in the first game of the season last Monday, 32-2, in a five inning game at Caledonia.  The Lions used 25 hits plus eight Hope Lutheran errors and seven walks  to fuel the win.

Lottie Augedahl, Amanda Heberlein, Samantha Augedahl, and Taylor Augedahl led the team with three hits each.  The first three had four RBIs each while the last had three RBIs.

Lottie Augedhal, Heberlein, and Shannon Doering had triples while Augedahl, Kayla Krueger, Julya Diersen, and Taylor Augedahl each had doubles.

Samantha Bratland started the game and went three innings getting seven strikeouts, issuing  four walks and giving up one hit.  Heberlein went the last two innings.  She had four Ks and gave up three walks and two hits.

At Houston

Defending conference champion Houston hosts the Lions on Saturday.  It’s a big rivalry and both teams have their starting pitchers back. Mabel-Canton comes to Spring Grove on Monday for a conference game.
