Warrior girls compete at Logan & L-A meets

The Caledonia/Spring Grove girls track team competed in two track meets last week against some of the top schools in the area. On April 17 they traveled to La Crosse and took part in the Logan Invitational. They placed sixth out of nine schools.

On April 20 they competed in the nine-team Lewiston-Altura meet where they placed fourth.

Logan Invite

Host school La Crosse Logan placed first with 165.5 points. Dover-Eyota/St. Charles second with 135 points, Arcadia third with 119, La Crescent fourth with 91, Holmen fifth with 72, CSG- sixth with 68.5, Tomah seventh with 29 and Logan White ninth with 22.

Earning team points for the Warriors included:

• 4 by 800 meter relay- (Lauren Arneson, Liz Johnson, Brenna Werner and Michaela Neuzil) sixth place- 11:23).

• Shot put- Aly Folz- second place (28-01) and Trece Frank- sixth (26-03).

• Pole vault- Heidi Buxengard- second place (7-6).

• 100 meter hurdles- Hannah Russert- fourth place (17.68).

• 100 meters- Maria Fruechte- fourth place (13.68).

• 4 by 200 meter relay (Samantha Colleran, Remi Sonsalla, Alyssa Albert and Frank)- seventh place (2:01.03).

• Triple jump- Russert- fifth place (31-7).

Discus- Folz- fifth place (83-00).

• 200 meters- Fruechte- third place (28.33).

• 3200 meters- Werner- sixth place (12:56.34).

• 4 by 400 meter relay (Arneson, Johnson, Neuzil and Russert)- sixth place (4:29.7).

L-A Invite

Last Friday the girls placed fourth in the Lewiston-Altura Invitational. DESC placed first with 179 points, Chatfield was second with 172, Rushford-Peterson/Houston was third with 101, CSG fourth with 80, Lewiston-Altura fifth with 73, Winona Cotter sixth with 49, Lanesboro/Fillmore Central seventh with 30, Wabasha-Kellogg eighth with 19 and Kingsland ninth with 13.

Earning points for the Warriors were:

• 100 meters- Fruechte- third place (13.74) and Josie Wagner- seventh place (14.06).

• 200 meters- Fruechte- third place (28.71) and Sonsalla- eighth (31.03).

• 400 meters- Fruechte- fifth place (1:09.35).

• 3200 meters- Werner- fifth place (13:05.28).

• 100 meter hurdles- Russert- second place (17.53).

• 300 meter hurdles- Russert- fourth place (53.09).

• 4 by 100 meter relay (Sonsalla, Albert, Colleran and Frank)- second place (56.47).

• 4 by 200 meter relay- (Sonsalla, Albert, Colleran and Frank)- seventh place (2:01.49).

• 4 by 400 meter relay- (Arneson, Neuzil, Johnson and Russert)- seventh place (4:48.34).

• 4 by 800 meter relay (Arneson, Neuzil, Johnson and Werner) sixth place (11:34.00).

• High jump- Alexis King- second place (4-6) and Wagner- fifth place (4-6).

• Pole vault- Buxengard- fifth place (7-6).

• Triple jump- Russert- third place (31-10.25).

• Shot put- Folz- fifth place (27-01).

• Discus throw- Folz- sixth place (65-6).
