Warriors in two area track meets last week

The Caledonia/Spring Grove boys track team participated in two large track meets last week. On April 17 they placed seventh out of eight teams at the Logan Invitational and April 20 they tied for sixth at the nine-team Lewiston-Altura Invitational.

Logan Invite

Host school La Crosse Logan split their team into two squads and placed first and fourth. Logan Red had 154 points, Holmen was second with 115, Tomah third at 110, Logan white fourth at 77, La Crescent and Arcadia were tied for fifth with 63 points, the Warriors were seventh with 52 and Dover-Eyota/St. Charles was eighth with 49.

Scoring points for the Warriors included:

• High jump- West Spiers- first place (6-0).

• 100 meters- Adam Drenckhahn- first place (11.38.2) and Ryan Pitts- second (11.49.3).

• 4 by 200 relay- (Drenckhahn, Pitts, Adam Buttell and Aric Elmore)- third place (1:39.05).

• 400 meters- Elmore- first place (53.65) and Sean Kearney (58.25).

• 4 by 100 relay (Drenckhahn, Pitts, Buttell and Elmore)- fourth place (51.02).

• 4 by 400 relay (Connor McCormick, Spier, Alex Marshall and Alex Goetzinger)- (3:50.19).

L-A Invite

Winona Cotter won the event with 119 points. Chatfield was second with 112, Rushford-Peterson/Houston third with 101, Dover-Eyota/St. Charles fourth with 79, Wabasha-Kellogg fifth with 73, CSG and Fillmore Central/Lanesboro tied for sixth with 68, Lewiston-Altura was eighth with 53 and Kingsland was ninth with 15.

Scoring points for the Warriors were:

• 110 meters- Pitts- first place (11.43), McCormick- eighth (12.46).

• 200 meters- McCormick- seventh (25.78).

• 400 meters- Elmore- first (54.90), Kearney- seventh (59.90).

• 110 meter hurdles- Phillip Paulson- eighth- (23.09).

• 4 by 100 meter relay- (Drenckhahn, Pitts, Buttell and Elmore)- first place (45.59).

• 4 by 200 meter relay- (Drenckhahn, Pitts, Buttell and Elmore)- first place (1:34.79).

• 4 by 400 meter relay (McCormick, Spier, Marshall and Goetzinger)- fifth place (3:52.25).

• High jump- Spier- first place (6-00).

• Long jump- Spier- eighth place (18-06).

• Triple jump- Spier- third place (37-10.75).

• Shot put- eighth place- Bryan Barthel (35-04.50).
