Boys pick up four firsts in La Crescent

The Caledonia/Spring Grove boys turned in some good times at the three-day “Old Blue Eyes” Invitational held last Friday in La Crescent.

The Warriors got first place finishes from Ryan Pitts in the 100 meter dash, from Aric Elmore in the 400 meter run, West Spier in the high jump and the 4 by 200 meter relay team.

The following are the top eight individual finishers and top three relay teams:

• 100 meter dash- Ryan Pitts- first place (11.60), Connor McCormick- fourth place (12.32) and Adam Buttell- fifth place (12.42).

• 400 meters- Aric Elmore- first place (54.75) and West Spier- fifth place (57.27).

• 1600 meters- Alex Marshall- fifth place (5:32.16).

• 4 by 100 meter relay- (Pitts, Buttell, Elmore and Adam Drenckhahn)- second place (43.02).

• 4 by 22 meter relay- Pitts, Elmore, McCormick and Drenckhahn)- first place (1:33.49).

• High jump- Spier- first place (5-08) and Buttell- second place (5-06).

• Long jump- Spier- second place (17-11) and Mitchell Anderson- fourth place (17-04).

• Shot put- Cornelius Dunningen- fourth place (40-00) and Bryan Barthel- fifth place (39-06).
