Attention: Republicans, Democrats and concerned citizens
To the Editor:
Come and meet a candidate on Thursday, May 24 at the Four Seasons Community Center in Caledonia who hopes to run for the U.S. House seat now held by representative Tim Walz.
I have read Allen Quist’s background in politics and found him to be very knowledgeable and willing to answer questions put to him. What really impressed me “the man actually read the Obama Health Care Bill.”
This 1,500 page bill which our congressman in Washington should have read, which he did not. Our congressmen were to have discussed it thoroughly among the parties as well as in numerous committees, which they did not. They passed it when time was running out and were told by Speaker Nancy Pelosi that we could read it after it was passed. Now we are finding out the consequences of this unread critical legislation.
I emailed Tim Walz, Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar with questions if they read it, etc. and I got a form letter thanking me for writing to them. I wrote back and said you did not answer my questions and then there was no further communication from any of them.
Is that the kind of representation you want in Washington? Passing bills they have not read nor understand fully? Certainly not I.
I don’t care what party you belong to. I do care that our legislators in Washington are not doing the job we sent them to perform. We are inviting concerned citizens to join us and listen to candidate Allen Quist who does read and has experience in the Minnesota Legislature. Ask him questions about your expectations and he will be happy to try and answer them.
See for yourself that there are our people who would do a better job in Washington than what he have now and that man is Allen Quist.
