Bjerke does not file for county board seat

There will be at least one change in the makeup of the Houston County Board come January 2013. Fifth District Commissioner Tom Bjerke did not file for re-election by the June 5 deadline, according to the Houston County Auditor’s Office.
Persons who have filed include:
• District One- incumbent Jack Miller and Judy Storlie;
• District Three- incumbent Steve Schuldt;
• District Five- Dana Kjome and Lane Zaffke.
Because there were not more than two candidates filing for any seat, there won’t be a primary election.
Filings for Caledonia City Council and Caledonia Area School Board won’t occur until Aug. 14.
