El Camino’s free concert will headline City Fest June 15 & 16

Music, food, games, vendors and merriment are on the schedule for Caledonia City Fest 2012 this Friday and Saturday, June 15 & 16.
The Caledonia Community Celebrations board of directors has lined up events for Friday evening and all day and evening Saturday at the Houston County Fairgrounds.
The El Caminos, a regional favorite for providing hard-driving country/rock will headline the weekend Saturday night. The four-piece band puts on a show filled with sing-along songs and an energetic stage performance. They shift gears smoothly through rock and country favorites and blow the doors off many of the current pop hits.
The free concert will be held from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday.
The weekend begins Friday evening with the beer garden opening at 5 p.m. across from the kickball field on the west end of the fairgrounds. Happy hour will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. with two for one beer specials.
A co-ed kickball tournament begins at 6:30 p.m.
A Texas Hold’em Tournament will begin at 7 p.m. Sign-up for the card tournament is 6:30 p.m.
DJ Lars will be providing the music from 8 to midnight.
Saturday morning the kickball tournament continues, beginning at 10 a.m. The beer garden will open for business at 10 a.m. as well.
The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary will be cooking up a storm, grilling burgers and more.
A vendor fair featuring a number of area residents who will be selling everything from designer jeans to paparazzi jewelry will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Wine tasting, sponsored by the Caledonia Municipal Liquor Store will be held in the beer gardens from 1 to 5 p.m.
A “luck of the draw” beanbag tournament will begin at 2 p.m. Sign up is 1:30.
The El Caminos will take the stage for a free concert at 8 p.m.
At 10 p.m. the Grand Prize Raffle Ticket Drawing will take place.
Members of the CCC who helped organize this event include: Susan Bauer president; Helen Olson vice president, Mitch Luttchens treasurer, Laura O’Heron secretary, and board members, Jackie Johnson, Kelly Meyer, Lori Thillen, Tamiko Hubka, Eric Halverson, Kevin Jacobson and Julie Augedahl.
