Caledonia-Spring Grove had a great showing on the Three Rivers Conference Baseball All-Conference team this year with four seniors being honored. Seniors Travis Frank, Ryan Frank, Ryan Eppen and Austin Goergen were the Warrior honorees.

“All conference is voted on by all the coaches in the conference,” said coach Dave Konz. “Each coach is able to vote for any player they want besides their own players.  Ryan, Travis, Austin and Ryan were all chosen because of the impressions they made on the coaches within the conference.

“Ryan Frank was one of, if not statistically the best pitcher in the conference,” said Konz. “Ryan had a great year for us and the conference coaches thought the same. He was our go to guy and really did a good job filling that role.

“Travis was all conference last year and his play this year also warranted being on the team,” said Konz. “Travis has been one of our most consistent players the last two years. We knew what we would get from him every game.

“Austin was our utility guy. He played catcher, right field, third base and designated hit for us this year,” said Konz. “His willingness to be a team player earned the respect of the coaches. He also came through many times this year with a big hit in a game and that also was mentioned by many of the opposing teams.

“Ryan Eppen went from being dh’ed for all last year to one of our best hitters,” said Konz. “He delivered some really big hits for us and defensively did a great job scooping balls out of the dirt at first base.  Ryan made the most of his senior season and will be hard to replace at first next year.”
