Jennifer Ely carded some great scores at the Minnesota High School state golf tournament June 12 -13 at the Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan. She turned in 91s both days which put her tied for 44th in a field of 88 talented golfers from around the state.

“Jennifer played absolutely great golf for 30 of the 36 holes,” said assistant coach Ken Van Den Boom. “Each day she had three holes on which she got on the wrong side of the hole resulting in an extra number of strokes. Her overall game was extremely solid with a couple of shots ending up in some challenging areas.

“To play that course with only one penalty shot was extraordinary!” said Van Den Boom. “Jennifer’s overall game was extremely strong considering that this was her first time at the state tournament. Jennifer Ely represented the Caledonia/Spring Grove golf team extremely well at the Minnesota State High School League Tournament.”

This is the 25th consecutive year that Caledonia/Spring Grove has had either a team or an individual at the state girl’s golf tournament
