Argus welcomes new managing editor, sales rep
The Caledonia Argus has named a new editor and general manager to succeed Charlie Warner, who resigned to accept a position in marketing with Miken Sports.
Warner had been editor of the Argus for five years.
Emily Bialkowski, who worked as a reporter and editor with a newspaper in Reedsburg, Wisc., started Monday as editor and general manager of the Argus. The newspaper has also added DeAnna McCabe as a sales professional.
Bialkowski brings with her more than a decade of news experience. She began her career in Reedsburg, Wisc. where she held the post of editor for several years before working as a freelancer. Bialkowski has written for some of the country’s largest newspapers, including The Houston Chronicle, Chicago Tribune and San Francisco Chronicle.
“I am so excited to join Caledonia’s seasoned news staff,” Bialkowski said. “I believe community newspapers play a powerful role in the towns they serve, and I hope to continue to provide our readers and advertisers exciting news coverage and business opportunities.”
Bialkowski has moved to the community with her husband and six-year-old daughter.
McCabe is a lifetime resident of Caledonia. She and her husband, David, have two children, a three-year-old daughter, Morgan, and nine-month-old son, Mitchell.
McCabe is the daughter of Mary and Gerald Pieper and will be working with senior sales professional Pam DeMorett.
