Meeting might get spicy
The Houston County Board of Commissioners is hosting a public hearing Wednesday, July 18 at 6 p.m. to address the proposed frac sand mining operation off Hwy. 16.
The meeting will take place at the Houston County Justice Center Conference Room, basement level.
The hearing will specifically review a mining and extraction permit that has been issued for the property currently owned by Tracie and Michelle Erickson.
Debate over the legitimacy of the permit, the proposed industrial use of the land and how that may disrupt the community has ignited a few county board meetings already.
