Paul H. Krzebietke, 79, of Caledonia, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012, surrounded by his family at Caledonia Care and Rehab.
He was born June 12, 1933, in Jefferson Township, Houston County, Minn., to Karl and Frieda (Schuldt) Krzebietke. Paul was a veteran of the United States Navy having served from 1951 until 1954. On Nov. 21, 1959, he married Erna Kruse at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Caledonia. Paul was employed as a buttermaker at the Eitzen Co-op Creamery. He then worked as a mechanic at the Ford dealership in Caledonia for 33 years. Paul loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed camping and fishing, motorcycling, and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Erna of Caledonia; four children, Robert (Karen) Krzebietke and Elaine (Dale) Neumann, both of Caledonia, Calvin (Melissa) Krzebietke, La Crescent, Minn., and Alan (Angela) Krzebietke, Delton, Mich.; eight grandchildren, Justin (Heidi), Melanie, Andrew (Megan), Cory (Cassie), Ryan, Shelby, Nicole, and Kyle; and three great-grandchildren, Cain, Samuel, and Veriah.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Mabel; and his brother, Karl who passed away on July 14, 2012.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 20, 2012, at 11 a.m., at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 650 N. Kingston St., Caledonia. Rev. Jon Wolff will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
