Argus welcomes teenage columnist

The Caledonia Argus is pleased to announce the addition of Teen Talk columnist Katie Meyer.  Meyer is a senior at Caledonia Area High School and will be writing a weekly opinion column beginning Aug. 29.

“I’m so excited Katie was interested in our Teen Talk position because she can provide our community insight into what teenagers care about, what they are going through and what they think about society,” said Emily Bialkowski, Argus managing editor.

Meyer is the daughter of Bill and Julie Meyer and is involved in sports, volunteering at the animal rescue center and her church.

“I was interested in the position because I’ll be able to write what I want to write about,” Meyer said, adding, “I hope to demonstrate that we’re going through the same things you were going through in high school. Times haven’t changed that much.”

“So often the teenage voice is underrepresented in newspapers,” Bialkowski added. “This addition keeps our content germane and attractive to a varied audience.”
