Employees of Northern Engraving were informed of a payroll information breach Sept. 7 that includes the leak of such private information as bank account and routing numbers, birth date, social security numbers and home addresses.

A letter from company treasurer Thomas Kelbel to employees said, “We recommend that you review your bank activity regularly and contact your financial institution if you have any further concerns.”

Both an internal and external investigation are underway and the proper authorities have been notified.

Northern Engraving’s payroll processor (ADP) was informed immediately, as well, the letter states.

Klebel was contacted but refused to comment on the situation.

Founded in 1908, Northern Engraving Corporation is a supplier of nameplates and decorative trim to a variety of markets. They are headquartered in Sparta, Wis. and have manufacturing facilities in Sparta, Holmen and West Salem, Wis., as well as Spring Grove Minn.
