Girls get big win against La Crescent
After losing four straight games the Caledonia girls soccer team picked up the pace last week earning a 1-1 tie at St. Charles Thursday and pulling off a big win against La Crescent – their first loss of the season –Tuesday.
Caledonia (3-4-1) got a goal from Trece Frank in the 23rd minute to tie Thursday’s game at St. Charles at 1-1, and the score held the rest of the way. The Saints took an early lead on a goal from Abby Ludens five minutes in.
On Thursday the Warriors scored seven minutes before halftime on a goal from Ali Beardmore as they handed the Lancers (6-1-2) their first loss of the season at La Crescent. Senior goalie Katie Meyer made 13 saves to get the shutout as Caledonia avenged an earlier, 2-0 loss to La Crescent Sept. 10.
