Josh Nord scored 49 minutes into the game to give the Caledonia boys soccer team a 1-0 lead, but the Holmen Vikings answered with three goals in the final nine minutes of the match to snatch a 3-1 victory away from the Warriors at Holmen Sept. 27.
Nord took an assist from Paul Sires to put the Warriors (1-8-1) up 1-0, but the Vikings (3-13-1) got a goal from Ben Truchan at the 71 minute mark to tie the game and then added two more from Austin Harper in the final minutes to get their third win of the season.
Caledonia goalie Nick Strabley made 14 saves for the Warriors, who were back in action Monday, Oct. 1 when they hosted Byron. On Oct. 6 they will play at Kasson-Mantorville at noon.
On Sept. 25 the Warriors lost 6-2 to P-E-M at home. Nord scored both goals for Caledonia, who were out-shot 20-18 in the game.
