Benefit fund set up for young burn victim

A benefit fund has been set up at Eitzen State Bank in Caledonia for the two-year-old daughter of Caledonia native Jennifer (Myhre) and Troy Dudei.

Alexandra “Alex” Dudei was badly burned on Sept. 30, according to family. Much of Alex’s burns cover her face, arms and legs.

Funds will go toward Alex’s medical expenses, follow-up appointments and therapy, all of which will take place in The Burn Center at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

Monetary donations can be dropped off at the Eitzen State Bank in Caledonia between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Other donations can be dropped off at Kid’s Corner Daycare Center in Caledonia between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Alex’s aunt and uncle, Heather and Francis Myhre of Caledonia, describe Alex as, “A happy, fun, lovable and beautiful little two-year-old girl who loves to play ‘mommy’ to her baby dolls, loves princesses and is a great big sister to her new baby brother, William.”

Alex lives with her family in Melrose, Wisc. and is currently at The Burn Center at Regions Hospital and will remain there for at least another week.
