City deals with Oct. 29 power outage

An underground equipment malfunction cut power to the east side of Caledonia Oct. 29 and hit homes, businesses and schools alike. City electrician Matt Blocker said some were without electricity for two hours.

The malfunction was found in front of Quillin’s and quickly rectified, Blocker said. “Once we found the problem it wasn’t that hard. The hardest thing is finding it,” he said.

Companies and stores can’t afford to be without power.
