Frac sand information ahead

An informational meeting will be held at the Four Seasons Community Center in Caledonia on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. Kelvin Rodolfo, PhD, professor emeritus, University of Illinois-Chicago, will discuss frac sand mining and draw from his decades of experience as an expert in Karst geology. The program is free and open to the public.

The Allamakee County Protectors are holding an information and fundraising event on Dec. 1 at the New Albin Townhouse, behind the bank. Frac sand mining awareness sessions will be the highlighted topic.

Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a presentation to follow. From 5 to 7 p.m. dinner will be served, and a second presentation will take place at 7:30 p.m.
