LLoydSanness_webLloyd Owen Sanness passed away on Sunday evening, Dec. 23, 2012.

Lloyd Owen Sanness was born Jan. 8, 1941 to Ole and Olga (Myhre) Sanness. He was baptized and confirmed at Wilmington Lutheran Church. He attended Spring Grove Public School. Lloyd and Nancy (Morken) were married on July 18, 1959 and spent 44 years together.  In the fall of 2004 he married Janet Bergsgaard Gilbertson.

Lloyd farmed with his father from 1959 to 1972 and was employed with Hubbard Pork Central, Mankato, from 1972 to 1995. In 1995 he built a 14 building pig nursery complex that he continued to operate. He was an avid collector of IH tractors both large and small.  Lloyd was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Lloyd is preceded in death by his first wife Nancy and by his parents Ole and Olga Sanness and son-in-law Rick Dehning.

Lloyd is survived by his three children and six grandchildren: Lorilyn Dehning, Danielle (Jeremy Myhre); Scott (Ann) Sanness, Gregory, Benjamin; Vicky (Dean) Dehning, Kayla (Jason) Klug, Chelsey, Trisha; his two great- grandchildren Mariah Fretty and Kayden Klug; his wife, Janet and her six children and 15 grandchildren: Elizabeth (Bill) Spalding, Nichole Sivigny; Galen (Cheryl), Caitlin, Garrett, Erica; Jeffrey (Shannon), Jonah, Jordan; Suzanne (Joe) Opat, Kacie, Timothy; Christopher (Carol), David, Regina, Gabriel, Ricky and Pamela (Tim) Stenstrom, Signey, Evan and Jacob.  He will also be fondly remembered by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lloyd enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. His usual ‘goodnight’ was to say that if anything happens to me, remember I have enjoyed my great life. He was reaching his third anniversary of reporting to the dialysis center three times a week and while there, met and made many new friends. On Sunday morning he was looking forward to being in church with his family members. The rest of the day was the family Christmas party with every family member in attendance this year hosted by Scott and Ann at their Iowa house. He had a wonderful day and remarked that we should have the gathering there every year. It was during the goodbye hugs and kisses that Lloyd passed away.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Wilminton church cemetery, rural Spring Grove. Pastor Zane Anderson will officiate. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at Roble Funeral Home in Spring Grove, and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
