Top news should have included championship

To the Editor:

Greetings from San Diego, Calif.! I am always glad to receive the Argus. Keep up the good work! Keep me informed.

I have a bone to pick with the people in Caledonia: the publishing of the top stories of 2012. Hands down the top stories in the state of Minnesota happened in Caledonia. Maybe the reason is sports. How could anyone forget the Caledonia high school football team? Not only did they win the 2AA state championship, but for the fourth time in five years.

I show all my friends the paper. They ask where in Caledonia, Minn. They can not believe that a community with under 3,000 people can win a 2AA football championship, let alone four times in the last five years.

I am a graduate of Loretto High School, the class of 1943, and remember the 1943 Loretto High School unbeaten team. I graduated in 1943 at the ripe old age of 23.

How soon we forget. We can believe those students will never forget 2012 and four for five state 2AA championships. Maybe it will be five out of six. It could happen. Go Warriors!
