Swindell at state

Caledonia High School students gathered Thursday morning to give Jacob Swindell a Warrior send-off. The senior was 0-2 at the state wrestling meet in St. Paul over the weekend after he lost his first two matches and was eliminated from the tournament. On Friday Swindell squared off against Simley High School senior Jake Short and lost by technical fall, 19-4, to the undefeated Short. In his second match Swindell faced Walker Thiele of Totino Grace and lost 14-2 to end his season at 28-12. Short eventually won the 152 pounds AA state title by pinning Josh Selly of Tri City/Cleveland in 1:09 to win his second-straight state title. Congratulations to Swindell for a great season. ~ Brady Ambrose
