FFA teams advance to state

On March 6 the FFA ag mechanics and farm management teams traveled to Riverland Community and Technical College in Albert Lea to compete in regional career development events.

The farm management team of Matt Meyer, Andy Houdek, Kevin Lapham and Paul Sires won this year’s event. Individually, Matt Meyer placed third, Andy Houdek placed fourth and Kevin Lapham finished ninth to round out the top 10 individuals.

The ag mechanics team of Ben Loging, Zach Kasten, Luke Werner and Zach Gavin finished second in the region and will advance to state.  Individually, Luke placed third, Zach Gavin fourth and Ben Loging ninth to lead the team.   These two teams now join the soils, poultry and dairy cattle evaluation teams from the Caledonia FFA Chapter that will be advancing to state competition. State events will be held during the State FFA Convention on April 29.
