Support for the Caledonia area’s new aquatic center is continuing to gain broad-based community support, as evidenced by the success of the Phonathon held April 1 through 9.
The amount pledged those evenings was $22,400, bringing the total pledged to $1,176,897 to date. Approximately 1,080 follow-up mailings have been sent to people reached by phone who requested additional information, as well as community members unable to be reached during the phonathon.
Checks as well as additional pledges have been steadily arriving at the Caledonia city clerk’s office these past several weeks supporting the aquatic center capital campaign. Community members not reached during the phonathon have approached S.O.S. committee members and other community members saying, “I was waiting for a call because I plan on donating to the project, but I was never called. What should I do? Where should I send a check?”
Many of those community members stated they no longer have a landline and were not able to be reached during the phonathon.
Different options exist for donating to the S.O.S. campaign. Those who would like to have a card for a three-year pledge should contact Jessica at the city clerk’s office, 507-725-3450 or [email protected]; checks made out to the S.O.S. Campaign may be sent directly to the city clerk’s office at 231 E. Main, Caledonia, MN 55921. All pledges are tax deductible.
The campaign’s website, sospoolcampaign.com, shows the laser-engraved tile sizes available for gifts of $250 and above. These tiles will be permanently recognized in the Family Aquatic Center Wall of Honor. Donors may choose how their gifts are recognized, as a memorial, in honor of person(s) or in recognition of specific events or accomplishments. Logos may be included.
